I went in to the midwife on Friday for spotting. The ultrasound showed that we lost baby A about 5 days prior. Now I am on bedrest as we wait and see what my body will decided to do, either miscarry the baby or absorb it into the body. Please pray for baby B. I really cannot emotionally handle going thru infertility again.

Has anyone else been thru this? I'd love some encouragement. Thanks!

On Monday night I started to miscarry. Due to blood loss I ended up in the ER which culminated in a D & C. I was 12 weeks exactly. I'm so sorry to leave you ladies, but wish you a very happy, healthy and stress-free pregnancy. I look forward to seeing many bouncy spring babies.

J A with DD1 7/06, lost twins 9/08
DD2 12/09 & DS1 12/09

So sorry mama!

This happened to me in my first pregnancy, around 8-9 weeks. The baby I guess absorbed into my system eventually........it was on the u/s screen but no hb. 2 weeks later it was almost gone. I did not go on bedrest or anything, dr said it would not make a difference, since there was nothing 'wrong' with MY insides that caused the loss of the other baby. I did go on to have a normal pregnancy and deliver the other twin normally and she is now 4.5. I didnt have bleeding or anything but I wore 3 pads a day to work and dark pants with a sweater tied around my waist every day to work just in case!

good luck mama!!

I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago -- I lost my baby B, too. I had seen both heartbeats at 6 weeks, and then at 8 one of the sacs was completely empty. It's so hard when your heart is geared up to love two of them. I did IVF, and apparently Vanishing Twin Phenomenon is very common with infertility treatments, and happens in up to 50% of twins. No one had told me beforehand that it was a significant possibility, so I was crushed. BUT I did take comfort in knowing that MOST of the time the remaining twin continues to thrive and the pregnancy is normal. I miss my baby B, though. (((HUGS)))

Happy mama to our miracle son Benjamin - 3/09 after a long road of infertility
