Hello all, my name is Ritney and I'm new to this forum. I'm nearly 15 weeks pregnant and wish to give birth naturally in Costa Rica with a midwifes. But I don't know yet how to go for it. I hope someone can give me some info or advice or anything that can enlighten me about midwife in CR. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Ritney!  Where in Costa Rica do you live?  There are a few homebirth midwives in the San Jose area.  :)

Hi, thanks so much for replying and about the midwifes info. I'm thinking to stay around San Jose anyway, that way I can be close with the midwifes. The other thing that concern me is about, how long is gonna take to obtaining the birth certificate and passport for the newborn, coz without it I can't take the baby out of the country while I only have 90 days visa ;( ... I'm confused.... Imagine that I need to leave the baby with some stanger in CR while I go to stamp my visa in neighbouring country for 72 hours???!!!!

There are many families who travel to Costa Rica to birth their child in order to obtain citizenship for the child and residency for themselves.  Unfortunately, there is not a lot of information online regarding the specifics of how to do it.  I recommend contacting those midwives and asking them for information, as they have most likely dealt with this issue many times in the past and can give you accurate, up-to-date information.

Good luck! :)
