I gained steadily in the 2nd trimester but haven't put on any pounds in the last 4 weeks. We'll see what the scale says at the midwife appt tomorow but mine still says 20 lbs so far at 29w3d.

At my last appt (about 24weeks?) I had gained 26 lbs. My belly is MUCH bigger just in the last two weeks. It's mostly belly with just a little extra butt and boobs. I have another appt Monday so I'll see where I'm at then.

I will be 25 weeks tomorrow and I am up a total of 8 pounds. I'm okay with that for now. I think that had I been exercising like I am supposed to I wouldn't have even gained that. I am working on getting everything together for our YMCA scholarship so hopefully I can start swimming before too long.

I could say 0 since I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight. But I lost 15 when I was sick in the beginning, so it's really 15. I'm really hoping to keep it between 25-30 this time, I have such a hard time getting it off.

Yeah, that's pretty much my boat too, although I'm now 6 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight. At my lowest, I was down 12, so I guess I've gained 18 pounds.

I've gained about 14 lbs so far at 29 weeks. It's so odd, I gained a total of 9 lbs through my whole pregnancy with my son and I started out 10 lbs lighter! Gggrrrrrr.....

Meh...I'm a little depressed after reading how little weight most of you ladies have gained. I feel like a blimp! I'm up 20lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight and that doesn't include the 8lbs I lost and gained back during the first trimester. I've been gaining about 1.5lbs per week I think for awhile. I have to say, this is the only part of pregnancy that I really really don't like (hate?). But...I'm resigned to it. I'm eating pretty healthy, trying to stay active (hard not to with a very hyper toddler in the house), trying to do my yoga regularly. DH is still happy (or at least smart enough now to not say anything even remotely derogatory - he knows it's a sensitive topic). I feel like my upper body looks pretty good, it's just the weight gain in my thighs and rear that bugs me. I need to start doing some lunges or stairs or something to get that giggly-ness toned up a bit.

But...28 weeks, 20lbs...fine. I'm hoping it will be a little bit slower from now on (har, har, not).

FWIW, for those of you who are down in the dumps about how much you've gained or are gaining...
I had gained 93 lbs at the end of my pregnancy with ds1. I was eating "properly" (lots of veggies, fruits and plenty of water) and was considerably active (went for a 1 hour walk at least 3 times a week, on top of my normal "exercise"). No gestational diabetes (or diabetes at all), everything was "fine".

I gained about 18 pounds in 24 weeks. But the midwife didn't even ask me, I just got on the scale in her bathroom. I don't think she cares. In fact I know she doesn't. There's a lot more than fat though going on you, besides blood, baby, placenta, bigger boobs, and I personally retain a lot of fluid. But some of its fat

I think I gained about 45 pounds the first time. It was off within three months. And I really think it was breastfeeding, because I didn't get off the couch very much! I

I think I'm up about 20-22 pounds or so. I haven't had a MW appointment recently (I'm 28 weeks and last one was at 25ish weeks). Last time I was there I was up 18 pounds, so this is just a guess.

I had to look back at my last post and see--I no longer remember what my pre-pregnancy weight was exactly. Apparently I'm now up a whopping 7 lbs, or was, as of Friday. If we're adding in first trimester losses, it's more like 12 lbs total gain.

Not to worry lightheartedmama! I'm also up about 22lbs. That's really not so bad. With an 8 lb baby I lost about 30lbs within days of birth, (after gaining 45lbs in total) so lots of that weight will drop off quicker than you imagine (or remember). Especially since you'll be nursing (presumably) AND chasing a toddler. Just the thought of that is dizzying to me!!

Hmmm... I was gaining really slow at first (only had gained ~10 pounds over pre-pg weight by 20 wks), but now I'm starting to gain really fast. At my appt. on Mon, I had gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I think I've gained around 20 pounds total now, at 29 wks. I still think my total gain is going to be less than it was with dd though- I had gained 30 pounds by this point with her, and ended up with a total gain of 40 pounds that time.

It did all drop off within 7-8 months though, and by the time she was a year old I was 12 pounds under my pre-pg weight (didn't stay there, thanks to my sweet tooth ).

Ignorance is strength.”

at my last normal OB appointment (my high risk doctor doesn't do weights) I had lost 38lbs since my 7 weeks appointment. I should start gaining weight back any time now, I did with the other 3. With one I manage to gain it all back, but no more, with another I managed to gain it all back plus 5lbs, and with the last I gained all but 17lbs back.

Weighed myself on my Mom's scale last night, and it showed me up 6 more pounds (so I'm up about 25 lbs if that scale is correct). I felt a little disappointed... then I realized I'll be 29 weeks on Tuesday! I still feel like I'm 20 weeks for some reason, and as I gain the weight I forget that I'm progressing in the pregnancy! So I feel like I'm doing okay. I feel like I've lost a lot of tone in my legs and arms, but unfortunately with everything going on in my life up until last week, exercise took a backseat. I'm getting back to it now, walking and getting out a lot. Still, I know I'll have some work to do when the babe is born. I'm SO glad we're giving birth in May, what a wonderful time to be outside with a new little one!

I'm at 29 weeks today and up 23 lb. So, right on track, compared to my other pregnancies. Everytime I tell my mw what I weigh she just says 'great'! Of course, I feel enormous and I'm increasingly uncomfortable. So, yeah, everything's going according to nature's schedule - I'm going to be more than ready for labour to begin!

I've gained 8kgs (approx 18lbs) in 29 weeks.

My first pregnancy, I gained a total of 10kgs (22lbs) and birthed a 10lb12oz baby. And within 2 weeks of giving birth, I'd lost 14kgs (31lbs). YAY breastfeeding!

thanks! I'm trying to just channel my frustration with the chubbiness into a little motivational storage tank for post partum work outs. I just have to not think about the fact that there's another 10+ weeks to come of rapid weight gain. And seriously...my thighs are feeling HUGE! Oh well...the baby is healthy and I'm healthy and I'm just going to refuse to really freak out about it.

Don't they say that you're supposed to gain 25-35 lbs? And that the weight gain slows down in the last few weeks? So I'd think 22 lbs at 29 weeks is right on track.

I'm 27 weeks and I've gained somewhere in the vicinity of 28 pounds. I think I'm going to gain more this time around but I still won't be anywhere close to what I weighed with DS. It seems like I gain a pound for every week of pregnancy and then stop gaining at the end, so I'm pretty much right on target at this point. Now if I can only keep the water retention down
I'll be a happy camper
