ALL DAY and NIGHT???

It started last Wednesday morning. Its now saturday and well it's not letting up. I'm not throwing up (yet) but if I cough or sneeze I feel like I could. My stomach is just queasy and unsettled all day long and all night. It's worse at night and in the morning, but man this sucks!!

Totally different from my first two. I hope it doesn't get anyworse.

I'm trying to eat all day long, mostly I'm just nibbling but its atleast something. I drink tea, and suck on ginger all seem to help a tiny bit for a short period of time.

anyone else going thru the same thing?

me! I'm in the all day all night camp. I usually have a few hours a day that I feel ok but not great. The rest of the time its a blender of funk rolling around in my tummy. I am miserable. Nothing helps, although a snack lessens it for a few minutes.

Hope you (we) feel better soon!

Me too. Constant low-level of nausea with intermittent waves of intense nausea all the time.

I had that with my first. It was terrible. Especially considering I was trying to go to school too. Ick.
Honestly, I just had to wait for it to pass. I think around 14 weeks IIRC. Light starches and sips of lemonade worked to get me through the day.
Hugs, mamas. That is very uncomfortable. I used to wonder if it would get better if I did go ahead and throw up, but I never tried. My MIL insisted it would just make it worse. I believed her!

I've been feeling the same way, mostly all day and evening (don't notice while I'm asleep)...and the only things that seem to help are: loads of protein (I've been doing whey powder in milk...both things I wouldn't normally eat...beans just exacerbate the gas issue, though), and fizzy drinks. I try to stick on the sparkling water, but there has been a day or two where I have : drunk a coke. The coke : works every time.

Ugh, yes. I thought if I ate better today it would help, so I had 2 eggs scrambled with a little milk for breakfast, and drank a bunch of water. Then after church I ate a little piece of some sort of almond coffee cake, and bleh. I got home and just crashed on the couch. Made dh bring me crackers, peanut butter sandwich, and a gingerale. I'm now eating some cassava chips flavored with ginger. *sigh* Not healthy, but I felt like I could get it down, so there ya go. I want to eat healthy for this little bean, but it seems so hard right now.

I am in that camp. Puking actually does help me, but I DETEST puking. I have to admit that my toilets have never been cleaner I feel like crap from the moment I wake until the moment I go to sleep with maybe an hour or two of life in me. I counted my calories the other day and I have lost weight but it's due to me not eating. I think I had forced down 750 calories one day and less than 600 the next and that is pretty much par for the course for me.

That, & I am still nursing 2x daily. Not good. I was not this sick with either of my children. So this new sicky sick is no good.

I feel for each of you ladies. Hopefully for all of us, it passes soon.

I'm feeling it, all day long too. It kind of passes if I'm distracted or right when I'm eating. But I'm finding it's getting stronger and my sense of smell is getting stronger so really, all I want to eat now are breadsticks. Reallllllly healthy... Ugh. My stomach just feels acidy and rumbling and unhappy all. day. long. I did not feel like this at all with my first. It could be worse, but I'm so bad at throwing up, I literally cannot make myself do it. (I've tried). I'll dry heave and feel horrible, but can't get it up. Ugh. But, I guess its a good thing. And I saw little bean on ultrasound the other day, so, anything for her/him. :

Yup, I'm here too. All day, I feel on the verge of puking and never actually manage to. I gag over every bite of food that I force myself to eat. I gag whenever I smell any strong smell. Some SOUNDS even make my stomach churn. I may even dry heave a little. But no throwing up and no relief from the nausea. I know that the lack of food just makes the nausea worse, but I can't get food down without gagging. It's a vicious, Catch 22 cycle.

I am practically counting down the days 'till second trimester!

Oh, yes, the smells...oh my.
Last night I made myself go to a barn dance (and had a lot of fun, too!). While listening to the band, I got a whiff, and looked at my friend in near agony, and said, "Ugh, someone has cigarette butts in their pocket in here..."

My friend just had a baby in June...she couldn't believe that I could smell that amidst all the other smells about. The smells are what seem to push me over the edge into near pukiness.

The nausea hasn't started yet, but i'm sure it will this week. So far with all 3 prior pgs, i had nausea in 1 & 2, it was for 2 wks (6-8) followed by lots of vomiting (but i prefer that), then with last one i just had 8 wks of nausea. I did finally figure out that eating or not eating didn't affect my nausea, so i just ate and figured i'd rather enjoy foods, since i was going to be nauseated either way. We'll see what happens this coming week!

Kriket: The ginger ale recipe sounds good!

I've been eating a lot of starches lately. Just trying to nibble all day long. But when I don't eat I get sick and when I do eat I get this really empty feeling in my stomach that makes me sick. It's like whenever I do eat it gets burned up so quickly that I'm instantly hungry again. Of course the hungerfeeling makes me want to throw up. I almost wish this would go away and I would just puke every morning like I did with my first.

I had posted in the previous threads about being starving and eating way more than normal and Im glad that I did eat so much because in the past two days I have been ramping up the nausea. Yesterday I ate lunch and felt kinda queasy all day but still managed to get some spaghetti down last night. Today I woke up queasy but with a burning hungry stomach so I had a cracker.

Then all day its been nausea queasiness knowing I need to eat something but I just can't. I can eat cereal and thats it. I know I need some protein but the idea of eating anything makes me gag. Sigh... I guess its time to bust out the protein shakes again like with my last pregnancy.

Ugh, I know what you mean, but for me cereal sounds so disgusting. I did make myself some chocolate milk for protein, but for dinner we had ramen noodles and garbanzo beans. The only meat I want is maybe some chicken tenders, so I'm having a really hard time with the protein, which is supposed to help with the nausea. I did eat some peanut butter for lunch, and a little ice cream [at least it's dairy ] at a birthday party. Oh, and I had some cheese and crackers at the party too, which surprised me, but now I have heartburn/indigestion so maybe that wasn't such a good idea.

is it bad that I am glad I'm not alone,
I've never even had a hint of MS with the first three, so I guess I am paying for that now. ICK!
ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT, it is the worst! Nothing helps!
I really wish I could just lay around and feel sorry for myself, but alas, i have 2 other small children and a bigger one (not to mention the biggest one that I married, LOL) and I am trying to finish my master's before this baby comes.

LOL! I was totally thinking the same thing when I read all these replies. I too missed out on the all day all night queasiness and nausea with my first two. I just keep telling myself "it's a good thing" Its a good thing"

: Once I hit 7 weeks, this all started. I've been avoiding caffeine but I've found that a little bit of it actually helps with the quesy feeling. After a nice meal of pasta and a small 8 oz can of Coke on Saturday night I actually felt well enough to return phone calls for a couple of hours. A brief but welcome change!

I just posted a thread about how sea bands are really helping my all-day nausea. Perhaps you might want to give those a try.

I have also learned that appetite or not, I HAVE to eat. If I am nauseous, it has usually meant that I need to eat something, though it's uncomfortable to do. Hunger + nausea is wicked.

cmoma: Yes! I'm with you. It's the lightest feeling of nausea that goes from mid-morning until evening. I can make it go away for a while if I eat, and I'm mostly wanting savoury carbohydrates. The thought of sweet things... yuck. Yesterday I was dying for poutine. Today I want curry on rice.

I didn't have this with the first two.... it really is an unsettled feeling.

Mmmm, poutine. My friend talked about that all while she was pregnant. I've never had it, but now you've got me craving it. Maybe I'll ask her for the recipe.

I think I might be able to stomach some mac & cheese if I've got any in the house....

I have been wearing the sea-bands and I'm not noticing much? they worked for the few days of nausea I had with my first though.'

I also agree with the having to eat something. I am forcing an egg sandwich down my throat as we speak. Though my throat is not exactly cooperating

I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. Its been one week of this, another 6 weeks to go UGH!!!
