Hi ladies! I am 8 weeks pregnant and a few days ago, I started experiencing lower back pain and pain in my left butt cheek! The pain comes and goes but it really hurts. I did some research and discovered it could be my sciatic nerve.

I've never experienced this before and this is my 1st pregnancy so I'm hoping I'm not the only one experiencing this! For those of you are familiar with this, what do you do to ease the pain? I have my first appt. with my midwife this friday so I'm hoping she can offer me tips/suggestions on what it is and how to deal with it.

I developed sciatica in my first pregnancy and it's never really gone away.

What keeps it best in check for me is exercise. Especially lots of walking. If I'm feeling a flare up, it can often be soothed by a long walk.

Chiropractor. I had the same problem with DS's pregnancy and I'm expecting it again this time around, regular trips to the chiro are the only thing that helps me.

I had horrible SPD with my second and I am a true believer in the power of chiro.

I had this with my first and am already having it now at 6 weeks. Although the first time it did go away during most of the second trimester- it was just a problem in the first and third.
Walking for me sometimes helps, sometimes aggrevates. I try to watch my posture and use some kind of back pillow in the car.
If it gets bad this time I may go to a chiro.

I have lower back pain as well, it can get pretty intense. It freaks me out as well as I'm PAL. It's not constant or even everyday but today in particular I'm in agony.
