Hello everyone.

So I'm a newbie here, I'm pregnant with my first child and due  in January.  I'm a bit numb still with the news, not a whole lot of emotion towards it yet.  Although hearing a heartbeat last Friday definitely made everything a bit more surreal for  me.  I'm also getting married in less than 20 days so a lot of focus is on that.  (been planning since before I got pregnant)  I  have some questions, as do most newly pregnant women and I'm hoping I can find some answers here.  I do know most of my questions I should still ask my doctor just to make sure but I figured I can never have too much information.

here's my first question:

1) Is it okay to drink iced tea while pregnant? I'm almost 10 wks and that seems to be a craving (more like must have for me)

I've been told it's okay just need to watch the sugar/caffeine content.

2) My prenatal vitamins make me sick..is that normal?

Hi!  Welcome to MDC & Congrats on your Pregnancy.

MDC actually has "Due Date Clubs" where you can visit with people who are due the same time as you.  Here is a link to the Jan 2013 one:

As for iced tea, that is personal preference.  I gave up caffeine during my pregnancies, but lots of people don't and there are studies even showing some benefits of moderate consumption.  You might want to post in "I'm Pregnant" to get more info:

Many women get sick because of their pre-natal vitamins.  Iron can be really hard on your stomach.  You can try another brand, try eating a small amount of food with the vitamins or talk to your care provider about other options (with DD I ended up not taking prenatals because they were causing me to throw up so much--- I also ended up anemic by the end of my pregnancy, though, even with special iron pills).

Good luck with your wedding and pregnancy!!!
