My husband and I have two children. We have a teenage son (13), and a pre-teen daughter (11). I resigned from teaching to stay home with my children. Funny, because although I stayed home with them when they were little (I went back to teaching when they youngest went into K), I now find it easier to be home to take care of everyone. Yes, we are fortunate that I am able to stay home with and for the family.
The main reason I am so delighted to have found this forum is for the Special Needs area. My daughter is ADHD, OCD, has learning difficulties, and is in a self-contained room. Of course, we work with her, and encourage her (with LOTS of patience). My personal biggest problem is that since she's becoming a young lady and developing, she's outgrown the cute clothes (gymboree, flowers, bees, etc). So, I'm hoping to find more information from this forum on how to work with her continued developments, while remembering her challenges.
