Hi, I've been reading Mothering Magazine since I was 16 (36 now). I've loved reading these forums for quite some time, but, since I'm not a mother, wasn't comfortable jumping in. Got married in 2011 and learned that I have about a 5% chance of getting pregnant without intervention so my husband and I are pursuing adoption. We live in China (both from TN) and are adopting a special needs child from China. I've learned so much from these boards and definitely want to use attachment parenting with our child. Also, many special needs children in China are bottle fed as late as 5 or 6 probably on the cheapest formula available, so I'm assuming our child will need some major nutritional help. My husband and I have a dog and a cat. I make kefir and kombucha and want to get back to making my own bread and butter. We live in an apartment and I grow my own little "garden" on the windowsill. I love all kinds of handcrafts and made a bunch of my own diapers and diaper covers before finding out we weren't going to be needing them. Thank you so much for a terrific resource!
