AntoninBeGonin, very easy. Our son's name is Antonin and Antonin BeGonin is one of his (thousand LOL) nicknames.

This one made me laugh because it sounds like something I would do!

As for my username, it's pretty straightforward... guess what my husband's name is.... hmmm... how old was I when I chose it...

I own a boutique with my family called BellaRosa and years ago when we first opened the girls in our chamber of commerce called themselves the "Chamber Chicks". They started calling us the "Bella Babes" and right around then I was having trouble with an old email account, so for the last 5 years my online persona has been Bella Babe!

i used to be and still am a crazy dancin' club kid fool at heart, but i heard the actual combonation of words while watching sex and the city one night and said "hey! that sounds like the username for me!"

though sadly i cannot even remember the last time i went out dancing. cross-country moves and pregnancy kind of squelched that...but i do dance around my living room quite a bit.

How I chose my user name:

I asked my friend to give me an email address name, and this is what she chose. Fitting, isn't it?

Can anyone guess why I am HairyArmpits? Yes it's true... I haven't shaved in almost a decade, much to the enjoyment of my girls. They love to play with my pit hair... it's become a security thing for them. Whenever another woman is holding them, they reach under and check... if she is shaven they get this weird, funny look on their faces! :

When my daughter was first born I would call her many little nicknames, including RayeRaye or SunRaye (my little ray of sunshine). I someday want to start my own business having to do with design and mothering, actually I would LOVE to start a magazine such as Mothering, but how could I possibly do one better? Anyway, I will name the business, whatever it comes to be...SunRaye Designs, SunRaye something...

I spent a summer studying Spanish in Costa Rica. They have a lot of green parrots there that they call "lora verde". Well, when the two young boys in my host family found out that my first name was spelled "L-O-R-A" they thougth it was completely hysterical that I was "named after a bird." (Of course, I wasn't but it was a very cute coincidence - :LOL ) A few years after that incident, I told my boyfriend, now husband, about it and ever since then he has called be bird or birdie. Thus, bird_verde came about and it makes a great user name. I have never had to alter it - it is rather unique.

I lived in Africa for a number of years and in the villages there, the common name women take is mamaX for their first born. Even if the first born dies, they are still known by that name. Subsequent children are blessings, but celebrated differently. In some areas, it's the first son, but the amas of only girls were truly picked on and left out of some of the ceremonies (and eldership), which pissed me off internally (though as an anthropologist I did/said nothing, of course). SO - mamabeca! I don't know exactly why Rebecca became Beca with one C...hrmmmmm.

From Musiq SoulChild, the artist/singer...well long story short, after grooving to his song "SoulStar" everyday for a month or so one of my girlfriends said, "Dang girl if I here 'SoulStar' one more time I'ma start calling you SoulSistah!".... As I proceeded to hit repeat I'm playing it right now...go on git yo groove on!

"Soulstar"
------Musiq Soulchild

Last night I had a dream
Of a beautiful day
And like a song
An angel passed my way
She was the embodiment of perfection
With skin like the sky
And her hair was as long as time
Then she turned to me (yeah)
With her big proud eyes
Her voice flowed like water
And it brought a tear to my eye
And she said to me

Chorus

Soulstar
Oh you’ve come
So far from where you started
Don’t be afraid
To let your light
Shine on the world
