I only have a few usernames I use throughout the net. Mommaduck is one of them. I picked it up due to my training my children to hold my skirt and eachothers hands while shopping. Someone made the comment once that we looked like a mommaduck and her ducklings. So it stuck.

The name I use for most all of my groups, "maigheach", takes a bit of explaining. It's Irish Gaelic for "hare". When I was married to my ex, he used to call me his "bunny", from a poster that said, "You're nobunny 'til somebunny loves you". Then I got my hair permed, and it went everywhere! My ex said with a fake pout on his face, "You're not my bunny anymore, now you're my wild hare (hare)!" Then, when I went to pick a user ID for Yahoo, I chose "maigheach", and got it on the first try! (Most people I know have to fiddle a bit to get a user ID that nobody else has.)
I also use "redwolfeprincess" on occasion, for most of my adult-oriented groups. Red, since I have been coloring my hair red, Wolfe, my maiden name, and princess, since that was my grandfather's nickname for me.

One of my cats was trying to get my attention one day when I was lurking here. He wouldn't get his butt out of my face, and kept swishing his fat tail across my nose and face. Squishy is his name, he's fat and purrlicious.

I played a character named "Elma" in a play. I thought it was a rather silly name (especially since the last name was "Duckworth"; ugh), so of course my boyfriend (now dh) and others started calling me Elma wherever we went. Then they find out I like Elmo, the muppet, (I can't help it, I think his voice is cute) so they changed it to Elmo.

I'm hanging out at a friends house a year or so later, and there is this friend of a friend there. He's about 15, and a jerk. I'm 20 at the time, so he's trying to get some attention from me by, well, being a jerk (because that works so well, you know ) So he says "Why do they call you Elmo??? Elmo is a BOY'S NAME!" Oh, brother. So, I fire back at him "Fine. Then you can just call me Lady Elmo." Holy crap, did it stick. If I had just left it alone, Elmo probably would have died out on its own. But Lady Elmo has been my screen name ever since. It was my gaming name, when I did that kind of thing. (ah the years before kids). Except when I was feeling b*tchy, then I used "THE DARK ELMO" (insert creepy music here). :LOL My DH still calls me that when he thinks I've gone off the deep end.

Oh, and I went to use it as a username on yahoo for an email account, and SOMEBODY ALREADY HAD IT!!! So, I added a 1 and just got used to it that way.

Kanyx is the combination to my first two furry kids, a Rottie named Kaiser and a mutt named onyx. Not super creative but so far haven't run into any on the web so its easy to remember for all the many accounts on line.

I guess my girls show me what a real geniune should be.
Loving, compassionate, tender, sensitive, accepting, forgiving and
all else. I think apart of that child like "characteristic" dies sometimes as we go through life's circumstances. We tend to "forget" what it means to be all of those things. I am always reminded to have that " of a child" approach, be sensitive, take time to smell the flowers, find joy in the simplest of things. Life doesn't have to always be so complicated. We make it that way sometimes. So, I think it always stuck with me when I thought of that. It reminds me what it means to have children, and what it means to be a mom, and a member of society.

It's the name of a game my siblings and I used to play as kids. Fek and Fuzz were 2 dogs (the two youngest kids), my sister and I (the two oldest) were their owners and the middle brother was the bulldog who would scare us. The best part of the game was when you said 'fek and fuzz' fast and messed it up and said 'f*k and fezz'.

I always refered to the little ones as little cherubs. And seeing as I am the mama to three of my own, I found it fitting!

Can you guess? I live in CT but lived in southern utah before kids and dh and will always have an affinity for that beautiful canyon laced, sand filled, sage brush smelling, big sky land. I hope to move us all there at some point in time. Or at least visit alot so the kiddies appreciate the beauty as much as I do!

I chose COOL2HOMESCHOOLnTN because we live in TN & we think it's cool to homeschool. My ex doesn't agree with homeschooling but there isn't a lot he can do about it as I have full custody My dh & I both felt it was best to pulll my daughter out of public school because they weren't challenging her & some of the things she was being exposed to didn't match what we felt would be in her best interest. Of course after the latest argument with the ex my dear daughter showed him a glimpse of what she's learned when she started answering questions on Jeopardy that left him stunned. When he asked her how she knew the answers she gleefully answered-mom taught me this in homeschool. No more complaints from him. :LOL We discussed sending her back to public school for high school but she doesn't want to go-she likes it where she is & she has a very active social life. Public school isn't for everyone just as homeschool isn't for everyone. It's a matter of doing what's best for your family. I don't pass judgment on those who choose to send their kids to public school but I sure wish they would show me the same respect. Now when I start getting bombarded with harsh comments about my decision I just simply say: " I don't ask you to defend your reasons for public schooling so don't ask me to defend my reasons for home schooling." That puts a quick end to the discussion. :

I tried for "Hypatia" but that name was taken; Pashie is a shortened version. I've always loved that name and had intended to name my child that, assuming I had a girl. Lucky for her, I named our dog that instead.
