I'm new to this wonderful forum. I'm really looking froward to looking around and reading all the posts, might take me a while.

I'm a stay at home mom, my son Porter is 8 months old and now that he's crawling, keeping me very busy.

Because i'm new...i'm looking for some suggestions on how to use this site, any hints etc would be helpful. It's all a bit over whelming at this point.

Looking forward to hearing comments from other like-minded-mamas out there!

Thanks,
Kendra

Mama!

What part of the PNW are you in? : We live in the Seattle area..but soon to move in a few months to PDX. Come on over the the WA,OR,ID tribe..we'd love to have you! (btw..what's up w/ all this fog???!! )

When I was new..this site totally intimidated me! I know where you're coming from I would just look through it all..and see what is out there. It's a HUGE site..full of tons of info..and really great!

I would read through the abbreviation post...it will help you read MDC language and understand it I thought it was like another world when I joined..but SO glad to find such an awesome online community!

Welcome. Wait until your son starts walking ... gets even more busy and FUN. My ten month old little boy started walking at 9 months ... so it can sneak up on you.
We're looking into Portland to relocate for dh's school.
Well you look like a pro with all your things on your sig line ... I only figured out how to do one ... co-sleeping bed.

Thanks so much for the advise about the abbreviation post...but where do you find it? eeeekkk, this place is big.

Where in the Seattle area are you? My dh and i moved down to Oregon from Renton 6 years ago. I grew up in the Seattle area, most of my family is still there, so we visit often. but for now we are 1.5 hrs south of Portland, living on 40 acres and LOVING it. I don't miss the Seattle traffic one bit!

Again, thanks for your advise.

Kendra

Hi Kendra, I think I may know you. I'm Megan, one of Pam's clients. I have 1.5 yr old boy and a 4.5 yr old girl.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

Thanks for the warm welcome. You mentioned the sig line...i really don't know how to do it right. I only used the ikons intended for the body of the email, so it's not a true sig line. i can't find where to do that. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Kendra

For your siggy, go to the top of this page. Click on the "Quick Links" button, then click on "Edit Signature". It should be pretty easy to figure out.

We live north..in Mountlake Terrace. We loooove it here so much! We are sure gonna miss it when we move. Dh leaves on Sunday for Portland..and we'll follow in June (after co op is over). We're excited about living in OR..and Dh will be going to school as well at PSU. That's great about the 40 acres! OMG! too cool I'd love to do that some day :

Welcome! It can be overwhelming but you get the hang of it. I just start scrolling through some of the forums that appeal to me. I just moved to Eugene a year ago and just love it. Glad to have you here!

Hi! I'm new here, too. I'm currently a SAHM to a 14mo DS in the SF bay area, but I lived in Eugene for a long time (thus my user name) and still have family there. While I don't miss the rain, I would LOVE a whole wheat crust pizza from Track Town right about now... I'm overwhelmed by the boards right now, too, but hopefully I'll see you around.

Hi - welcome to Mothering! As others said, just find a few forums that are interesting to you and start there. Maybe 'Life with a Babe', since your son is 8 months? Although you'll be progressing onto 'the Toddler Years' soon enough!

Glad to have you here!
