Hello all! I'm 38 I have a DD who is 13
(going on 21) and A Ds who is just 4 months.
It"s so different, I'm so different, this baby is so different this time around.
I'm learning about natural infant hygiene (EC-ing)and having some success, yea! We been doing it for the last 3 weeks we now wash diapers every 6 days instead of every 3 days, and I feel like I'm tuning into him more. I feel little more isolated than 1st time around- I live in a small town, I'm an extrovert, I quit my job to be with baby, I'm older, My friends have older children, and go to work 9-5. So I'm happy to have found this forum.

THANKS FOR THE WARM WELCOME!
Blogging is totally new to me.
It is so amazing! It's like walking into a crowded party and trying to get your bearings. "Where's the bathroom, where's the food table, do I know anyone here, who do I want to talk to, what do I want to talk about?"

So I'm really enjoying having a baby and a teen, it's great. My DD is 13 & DS is 4 months. She has been an only child for so long but seems to have adapted well to change & Baby Boy loves sister. I'm really lucky he is such an easy, happy baby!

Welcome! I have the same spread-it made it much easier having the twins with another almost-adult around! They are 21 and 8 now, and really love each other.

Welcome! I have 17 yr old twins who were 12 when my next generation of children started being born. Do you plan on having more kids? It is very different, I know what you mean.

I was 13 when my brother was born, and I had an amazing time when he was little....then I grew up a bit too fast and didn't like anyone! haha, but that is a different story.

So I'm thinking a lot about writing books-This would be something new to me but I have book ideas. I want to write a book on the benefits of staying home with your children when they are babies.
Somewhere along the way it became the cultural norm to put your baby in day care at 6-12 wks. I think many women feel they need to go back to work because of finances, social pressure, family pressure, or maybe they just don't consider any other option. I think there is a lot of heartbreak involved in women leaving their babies.
Any feed back?

I just wanted to say welcome

I have a 17 yo ds, a 14 yo dd, and a 16 mo ds. It is quite different this time. I am definitely more crunchy this time. With the others I was almost totally mainstream, although I could never CIO and we did CD. I only bf them for a couple of months, then when it got hard, everyone said ff, so I did.

Anyway, I love being an older mommy now. It has been great. How about for you? I love the idea of that book. In your book, would you get anecdotal stories from people, other's life experiences with that? It sounds like a great project. I have to admit I work, but it's part time, and I feel like I am still a very involved mommy.

Enjoy this new home!
