I've been looking through the resource links, and I've been doing searches on my own, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, and what I'm looking for seems so simple to me. I'm getting frustrated that I can't find it. I'm looking for a children's book that I can read online. For a very very beginning reader. We're talking "cat" and "dog" here. I don't just want words, I want sentences. Preferably a story. I don't want something fancy where you click on the word and it's read to you, or he'll figure out that it does that and he'll always want me to click on the words instead of reading them himself. I don't want to download anything or create an account. Seems like there should be simply tons of websites where you can just go to a page and it will be full of simple text that beginning readers can read. Why can't I find this?

That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Is there anything like that where the words are shorter and easier? Like really really basic picture books that say things like "the red ball is in the yard?"

Here's a few more you might want to check:

Bibli's Books
Elementary reading books online (this one has very simple books)
The Reading Room(harder, but to keep in the queue for later)

That's closer to what I want. I'm looking for pre-K rather than 1st grade, but the fox book doesn't seem too hard. Thanks!
