The old penpal thread is pretty old and seemingly forgotten. Would anyone be up for a new one?

Great.

I guess here are my kids (that are old enough to appreciate penpals!)

dd #1 is 8yo and loves reading, Harry Potter, karate, and fairies.

ds is 7yo and loves dragons, dinosaurs, karate, Harry Potter, Eragon, and playing outside.

dd #2 is 4yo and loves reading with me, writing letters, cats, and karate.

My 4 yr old dd would love to! We found someone who wanted a 4 year old penpal on here, and we sent out our letter right away, but its been 3 weeks, and no letter back. So we're all psyched to have a penpal! Her handwriting has improved so much since we sent our first letter out.

4 year old girl loves reading, drawing, learning Spanish, her cat, getting into bird watching and other hobbies.

I have two boys, almost 8 and 4.5 who might be interested. I'll ask them in the morning. I don't know if they'll get the concept of writing letters to someone they don't know!

my dd is 7 1/2. she loves animals, baby dolls, mud pies, playing outside, etc. she doesn't love writing, so her letters may be short. but she loves drawing & will always include random strange things in the letters (like stickers, play money, photos, & whatever else she finds).

my son is newly 5. he doesn't write notes at all - but he can draw pictures...plus i can dictate for him. he loves power rangers, pokemon, bakugan, etc. he'll also include random things in his letters.

Oh man, I used to love having penpals.

My daughter is far far too young at 20 months, but if any moms want to do a mom penpal type thing, I'd love that. Maybe exchange letters, recipes, and craft ideas?

I really just love snail mail

he's 7.5 - loves reading, drawing, being outside, hiking w/ dad, and is looking forward to the garden, and homeschooling next year.

we would
DD1- 11( almost ) Harry potter, American girl, pokemon, webkinz, writing, books/reading

DD2- 8 , american girl, webkinz, fairies, harry potter

DS-6 doesn't really write yet but this would be great to get him into it, so his letters might be short- nerf guns, policemen, fireman, super heros, harry potter, dirt lol

I think that's a great idea, too. I don't have many friends around here.

We would definately be interested. My son is 10 and a reluctant writer so writing letters or short notes is one of the only things he enjoys writing. we've been doing some with family and friends but we are sending more than recieving at this point.

He always includes a small drawing or piece of art on those 'artists trading cards' and maybe a sticker or pressed flower or something like that. He's into legos, harry potter, curcuits/soldering, taking apart things, making stuff out of other stuff, biking, skating, electronic music, reading, audio books, cats, rough-housing with his little brother, mythbusters and so on. oh and he spells better than me .

so how does this work? and why do i feel like i just wrote a personal add for my kid?

If there is a better thread, point me!

I babysit a 7 yo and we could really use something to do together during the days. He likes Indian Jones, creepy crawlies (bugs snakes) legos, and messes.

I also am mama of DS who is 2 in April and just likes paper! Snail mail is always fun to get, maybe the kids could exchange drawings or something.

Has anyone ever used one of the internet sites for penpals?  I was thinking it would be cool to get a penpal from another country!

I have an almost 7 year old daughter who LOVES to write. She has been begging me to find her a pen pal. She loves to read, fairies & unicorns, building with duplos, arts & crafts, ballet, playing violin - to name a few things. Anyone interested?
