I am soon going to pull all of my hair out. My daughter is so far ahead in all other subjects but she has put a block in her mind to say that math is hard and that she is no good at it and it is now causing lots of frustration for us both. We are able to get through all other subjects easily and when math time comes it is tears time. It is driving me nuts! Please help me with some resources, games, tips, tricks, something that can help us get through this. We are working on division now. I want to bang my head on the table but that will obviously not set the right example. Please help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I work from home and love showing others how to do it too!

My dd is the same way. We're on our fourth math curriculum. The one that works for her is Math U See. Because there's a DVD with a math teacher on it, she will listen to him and not me.

I would dump all the math curriculum and take the Living Math approach. We use Singapore as a guide and a supplement. This greatly eased CherryPie's frustration. Oh! And we also use Life of Fred. (sorry... can't type much now)

You can do a similar thing with multiplication.
