I'm looking at next year. My 4th grader does good with anything, but my 2nd grader is more of a visual kid. He also is an Aspie. Right now we're using MFW, but I am looking at more options.

I'm leaning towards a eclectic/unit study/unschoolish mode for my Aspie. But, I would still want something to guide me/hold my hand. My oldest would do fine with anything, really as long as it's interesting.

dotnetdiva's history posts on her blog, lol.

Probably SOTW or History Odyssey (or both) with breaks for biographies of people I thought were worth studying in depth.

We haven't started formal history yet. Probably next year. I planned to for first grade, but I don't think she's quite ripe for it yet. So maybe for second grade, we'll get into the Ancient world.

Happy and in love with my family!

My 2nd grader is also an Aspie. He really enjoys SOTW. We also use a lot of the urls from the Usborne Internet-Linked Encyclopedia of World History and a lot of the videos from BrainPop (he loves just about anything on the computer), as well as various fun and interesting library books. He looks forward to social studies time.

You can find me on Facebook. PM for info.

We are using Mystery of History and SOTW.

Mama to 9 so far:Mother of Joey (20), Dominick (13), Abigail (11), Angelo (8), Mylee (6), Delainey (3), Colton (2) and Baby 8 and Baby 9 coming sometime in July 2013.   If evolution were true, mothers would have three arms!
