how many do you have left? We have 12! We're year-rounders so it isn't like we'll stop learning in 12 days, (and like I tell my kids, we're learning all the time!) but it's nice to know that in 12 days I will no longer have to worry about appeasing the state.

Every summer we do something special-- we did Hogwart's Summer School two years in a row, then Olympian Camp a la Percy Jackson last summer. This summer we're having a Family Detective Agency, and I can't wait to get started!

Flowers, fairies, gardens, and rainbows-- Seasons of Joy: 10 weeks of crafts, handwork, painting, coloring, circle time, fairy tales, and more!
Check out the blog for family fun, homeschooling, books, simple living, and 6 fabulous children, including twin toddlers

We were done at least a month ago, but I count Saturdays too as long as they've done anything remotely educational.

DS has his first official testing on Tuesday, then we can relax a bit but we do year-round too and he needs to do a lot of math.

We have to log weeks, and we can't start until Labor Day, so we have two and a half weeks left to go, having not skipped any since we started.

our school year will end in late may and we'll start back in mid august (we record for 180 days). during the summer months, my kids will probably do the library reading program & maybe a little math too. but i won't have to log anything or maintain a portfolio, etc.

31- but we took a large break when I had the baby.

To my husband I am wife, to my kids I am mother, but for myself I am just me.

oh GURRRRL i know!
we have 5 days left (if that) and even though we will keep on keeping on...it is such a relief to have that "responsibility" hanging over my head. Then we can just relax and learn.

We're moving to San Diego this summer, and I think that is one of the things we have to do? Can you tell me what is involved in doing this?

In California you don't have to worry about it, unless you want to be part of a public school independent study program.

Thanks Dar. For some reason, I could have sworn I read that you have to do that in California and I couldn't understand why/what benefit. We'll be filing as a private school so that we can do our own thing. I really need to look up the exact "rules" for doing this!

Thanks for posting on my behalf!
