Hi everyone. I just wanted to throw this story out there and see if anyone had any insight as to what is going on.

I took my ODS out of 4th grade last year at Thanksgiving to homeschool.  Our requirements are pretty lax, but I was expected to either keep a portfolio or have DS take the statewide standardized test at the end of the year. We chose not to keep a portfolio and just to sign up for the test.

DS took the test at his old elementary school, along with one other homeschooled child.   All summer we waited for the results. They didn't come. So I called the school, who didn't have them and directed me to the district office. The district office didn't have them. The lady that was helping me was really nice and obviously wanted to figure this out. She was able to find the serial # from DS' test booklet and she called the company to ask for the scores. Well, she was told that the booklet hadn't been scored (why, i don't know) and that we missed the window of opportunity to request that they be scored. They basically told the lady at the district office that there was nothing she could do.

Anyway, at first I just took this as a disappointment, just one of those things that happens, and figured if I'd pursued this earlier I would have been able to get his test scored.   But when I told my mom (a public school teacher) about it, her first instinct was that this happened deliberately, because DS is homeschooled. Like someone didn't want homeschooled kids' scores being compared against public schooled kids' scores. She said that with all the cheating going on in Atlanta WRT testing she wouldn't be surprised if something shady were going on. I do think DS probably did very, very well, since he did very well in 3rd grade and then did a much more rigorous curriculum in hs.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening? Thanks!
