We are trying to track down books that we found and read from the library several years ago. In both cases, the books were part of a series. Unfortunately, we cannot remember the authors or the series names or the book titles. Can you help?

The clues (what we do remember) :

Book 1 -- a high school or middle school teacher who taught science and didn't get along with another teacher or maybe the principal. There were also strange (science fiction) happenings that that focused on the teacher or the classroom. There was a detective quality to the story

Book 2 -- again, a science class at school, and the cover had two atom pictures on it.

I think they were from two different series of books.

If you can give us any possibilities, we'd appreciate it!

(Incidently, returning to the library where we originally borrowed the books is not possible due to distance. I've tried to find them online and there were just too many books to search through.)

Thanks for the help!!

Doesn't ring a bell with me. I can imagine trying to find them online would be a tedious search.

Anyone have an idea?

We went to a different library yesterday and the librarians (a man) figured it out!! He just would not stop searching, no matter how many times I thanked him and edged toward the doir. Anyway, both books are from the same series -- Mad Science.

Thank you to all who racked their brains, and especially anyone who did any research.
