My son has been homeschooled for several years and wants to go back to HS for his senior year. Today we contacted the school and they said they can't do anything until they have a transcript from the Michigan Department of Education on what he has been doing. Everything I have read has said that you don't need to register with the state unless you want Special Ed services, which we don't. Are they wrong?
Okay, I just called the Michigan Department of Education and they don't even give out transcripts, so I have no idea what this school wants. The state says that every school has their own enrollment requirements, but how can they require something that you can't get?
Many high schools only accept credits from accredited schools, so while your son can attend school this year, he may not be able to graduate this year.
Attending community college may be an easier option for him. Good luck
but everything has pros and cons
