I really enjoyed the Seasonal Activities article. I need reminders and help with finding a yearly rhythm for my family. We will be using the "sit spot" suggestion more and more as the weather warms up!
Enjoying my DDs: 11/95, 06/06, 04/08, and DS (!?!) 8/16 . Married to my soulmate.
Got to admit it's getting better, getting better all the time.
I am inspired by "Clean the house in ten minute bursts" Along these lines I have a "2 song tidy" putting on two songs that are really upbeat and happy and just tidy for that length of time :) It's great to see what you can do in those two songs!
"Spend one-on-one time with the people you love best" Something I should do more of.
"Seek out mentoring relationships" Something I hope to become better at as my child grows.
"Collect a dozen things you no longer need or use to give away."
I love this tip, and have been able to enact it using a yahoo group called freecycle. Unwanted items that might normally end up in a landfill are posted online to be given away to someone who will use them. I've also received lots of great stuff this way, reducing my need to purchase items new, which usually packs a much larger carbon footprint than reusing something.
I use all cloth products except toilet paper, gardening is a new adventure for us but we are learning as we go, I am an artist at heart so my kids are always creating something with me! We have connected with our neighbors on a level that is inspiring - from last minute babysitting, to community cookouts anytime it is warm, and also a ladies walking group as often as we can. Practical skills and knowledge play an important role in our children's education. We are always learning when we are OUTSIDE!
