lapbook unit studies

I'm planning now for next school year (gotta show the hubs that I have an actual plan in place so that I can pull the kids out of the cyber school they are enrolled in, we're in the middle of the PARCC testing and I want to kill someone already). Anyway, I am looking at doing world geography and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with the lapbook units for the continents at Hands Of A Child or with the geography connections units at Homeschool Share. I'm trying to keep it light and fun to keep a 3rd grader engaged while also being meaty enough for 6th and 7th graders, while not overdoing the work on me personally since I'm due in late December with #7 .
