It arrived UPS, which impressed me given how low the shipping charges were. I ordered 11 books (I think), all of which were either literature study guides or similar. One was for Around the World in Eighty Days and another for Island of the Blue Dolphins, as well as other classics.

The material is reasonably well put together. Some of the suggestions within are better suited to classrooms or multi-kid activities but many are good for home use.

Not bad!

Is anyone else getting the Scholastic News? This is our first year to get it and so far it is a big hit around here. It is a little better suited to a classroom than homeschooling, but still very good.

We haven't ordered any study guides from them. Did you find them on-line? Tell us more about them.

but everything has pros and cons  shrug.gif

My kids really like "Let's Find Out". I used it when I was teaching- it's our little nod to conventional schooling. :LOL

I just got my shipment confirmation yesterday. Hopefully the books will be here soon!! I'm so excited. I got a huge order from bookcloseouts.com today. They ship media mail through USPS so it took about 2 weeks, but it was worth the wait!

Another 1/50 of my order came today. Alone. Via UPS.

How do these people stay in business, anyway?

I got the Happy Birthday Game alone on Wednesday. The rest of the order came yesterday. We had a wonderful time with dd1 cutting out the snowmen in the snowmen match up. We played the game a little the "right" way, but she can't stand to take turns in any kind of "concentration/memory" game...so she divided the cards in half so I could match half and she could match half.

She says when she's older she'll play it the way the rules say. (Cracked me up!)

Anyone else going to be obsessively checking to see if it takes 50 days for AnnetteMarie's order to be complete?

Ha, Chalupamom. It's my fault, I guess- the stuff coming alone is bulletin board stuff I ordered for my Sunday School classroom!

Better double items than no items I guess

I got one thing via UPS too-a 100 day chart last week so hopefully the rest is close behind. Maybe I'll get 2 LOL

Has everyone received theirs via UPS? I keep checking the front porch every hour or so ... I got the email notification last Monday so I was totally hoping it'd be here today. I guess there's still a few hours left in the day for the big brown truck to pull up outside.
