hidden creek homeschool is our name.

we have a creek hidden in our backyard -- or actually a dirt hole that looks like it may have been a creek at some point - we need rain!

we used to be "maynard academy" lol! that's the street we live on!

Blessed Sacrament Homeschool is our umbrella group's name. I'm holding off on letting the children pick our personal school's name, since right now (5, 2, and 6 months) we're likely to get something "Our Lady's Super Happy Dancing Snowman" school.

Which wouldn't be bad, now that I think about it

We don't have a homeschool name but I think "House of the Hellions" would probably suit us pretty good.

"Quail Meadow Academy"

Right now, even as I type this, we have about 100 quail eating sunflower seeds on our front lawn! We have a huge meadow just to the east of our garden and orchard, and the quail always roost in the red-twig dogwood thickets, that lie beneath the cottonwoods, just beyond it. :

It is a beautiful place and is being covered with more snow today (and, more in the forecast : ).

There will be sledding this weekend after we cut our Christmas trees!!

It used to be the Frizzle Institute of Learning. Now, I favor, "Mind's Fire Academy". I think I stole it from someone on this list.

Great Adventures Learning Academy here.

Considering my son just glued his shoes to pieces of cardboard (foot sleds, mom!), it seems to be an adventure every day!

you all are so creative....I haven't had to send in my paperwork yet, but I cannot for the life of me, think of a name. I thought about it having something to do with where we live, but we may be moving within two years. I hate coming up with names for things!!!

We have the same predicament....need to come up with a name by next month, and I have no idea! We are living in an apt, so it is difficult to find inspiration in our home, lol.

Dh is Greek...I might have to steal the Agape idea.....

I just asked the oldest (5) what she thought the school name should be, and sure enough, I was right. She came up with the following:

"Our Lady's First School That Loves Dinosaurs" except she wants a heart instead of the word "loves".

So there we go. That's our homeschool name for this year.

: Lurking for inspiration. We have to come up with one by next year to register with the state and I have nothing. The only thing dh will contribute is "school of hard knocks". It can't be cutesy because it will eventually be on her diploma and once you register you're stuck with it.

Global Adventure Academy.

This spwned by the idea of course, that our learning would be developed around travel...domestically and internationally. DH's income can vary greatly though month to month so that makes it tough. Sometimes we have to be creative about it....like the Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco (2hrs away) in February.

Some of you have to have school names? I'm not sure why a state would require that.

our state requires it when you provide them with Notice of Intent to Operate a School. We also have to provide our diplomas and so forth.

I want someone to come up with one of those name formulas, something like: the author of your favorite book, the name of the street you grew up on, and, um something else...

Until somebody figures it out, I don't know what I'll do.

I'm in the same boat. Yeah, I second that someone should create a formula to plug in some variables to see what kind of homeschool names you can come up with.

ETA: Thought of something to start with, anyhow. I want to do something with "Intrinsic"--great meaning. Hmmm, I'll have to think more, I guess.

I want something that implies we are learning in, from, and with the community. So I need the word community in there, lol. Or maybe Neighborhood.

But that is all I've got. And I need a name by next month!

A formula would be great right about now :
