I have been in the SCA for 5 years, now. I was just wondering if any other MDC mamas were, too, and we could chat?

Yep, Society for Creative Anachronism.

It is a group that re-creates the good things about the medieval period.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to answer!

*sigh* I've never been in SCA but my brother was (is?) and one of my good friends back home is. DH and I have talked vaguely about maybe someday...

Do your kiddos go with? What are your trades?

I wish I was, but I work on Saturdays. That's when most of my friends go. The best I get to do right now are random one day attendances at Ren Fairs... (I know, not the same!)

I wish, but my spine doesn't tolerate camping or fighting.
I have many friends who are heavies, though. I was just in it for the drinking.

WI have yet to take the kids to a camping event but I think that I will next year. We just day-trip them. I am the leader of the local group here. I usually do a lot of arts projects-embroidery, weaving, spinning, plucking my harp, and cooking. There are many more projects I would love to do but it all takes $$, yk? My wallet just loved that I have an expensive hobby
