Shining Star School, a new Waldorf school in NE Portland, is also opening a folk art school with classes for adults and classes for children. There are a wide variety of classes, like knitting, spinning, gnome making, baking, etc.

Here is the current class schedule:

Hi,
I saw your post for this school and I am wondering if you attend their with your children? I am interested for sure. Please let me know if you can. Thanks! Sarah

My daughter goes to the co-op kindergarten (ages 3-6). That program is currently full, but there is a waiting list in case spaces open up. My husband is the one who is the parent helper for our family at school.

We aren't actually signing up for any of the folk art school classes this fall- she's too young for the children's classes, I think, and my due date is unfortunately in the midst of most of the fall classes.

Does this help?

Hi,
Thank you for your post. Can you tell me about the school and your impressions so far on your experiences, waldorf based things you enjoy/don't enjoy and any other info. you might have time to share. I am looking at schools for my son for next year. This year a school we signed up for didn't work out. I might even consider going onto the wait list for this year just in case something opened up. I am also wondering if they have after school/before school care? thank you! sarah
