Hey mamas!
I'm childbirth educator-to-be in Northern NJ, and I'm putting together a list of community birth resources. I'd love to get your recommendations for the following:

Midwives (I have Judy Hagan, Avalon and MW of Denville already)
Doulas
Obstetricians (I have none right now)
Pediatricians (I have Schlachter)
Lacation Consultants (I have L. Resource Ctr in Chatham)
Childbirth Educators
Anyone else--Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, etc.

Send them along, so I can pass them on to my students!
Thanks a bunch!
Love,
Vesper

Please email Chris Jones at chrisj@babyandme.us, she is an AP postpartum doula, LLL leader, AP leader and BF conselour.

Also e-mail Tiffany Palisi at tiffanypalisi@yahoo.com, she has an AP newsletter and compiled many real AP stories written by AP Mamas and published a book with them. I don't remeber the name of the book, but either Chris of Tiff can give you that info and plenty more.

Does anyone know if Mia Riker-Norrie is still a certified Bradley instructor? I went to her when she gave classes in Bud Lake, but she has since moved to Montclair, and I have lost touch with her. But she is a great teacher!

I also had a great hospital birthing experience with Roxann Mitchell and Cindy Redmond (the midwives at Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates in Hackettstown.) Also, Hackettstown Community Hospital allows waterbirth!

I went to Amie Rozen, a homeopath, when I was pregnant with Jared. She is located in Morristown.

You may want to try the "childbirth and women's wellness center" in Englewood. Lonnie Morris, CNM, ND is the Founder/Director. One of my friends had her 6 children with her! She really loved her experience with her.

And, finally, I loved our Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, Carol Alexander. We went to her when we lived out in Pa. She is located in Hackettstown, NJ. The name of her practice escapes me.

IMA Midwives - Homebirth midwives from Suffern that serve North Jersey (http://www.imamidwives.com/)

Also, highly recommended are the wise women Jill, Kelli, and Laura of Wise Women Birthways in Montclair. They provide numerous services including doula work. http://www.wisewomanbirthways.com/

Lastly, I'd recommend contacting DONA for certified doulas in NJ.

HTH!
