Are you in or near the Twin Cities?
Do you want to be?

Well, then you have found your tribe! Despite our diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and interests, two things bond us together: living in the coldest state on earth...and the love for our children which warms us. The weekly tribe thread begins anew each Saturday. Watch for the new thread on the main Minnesota/Wisconsin board.

Some of the individuals who post here meet weekly. If you are interested in attending a get together, please post your interest on the thread or send any one of us a PM. We welcome with open arms and minds the input of all parents, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, political view, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, etc.

Just stopping in to say hey.

Now that the political race of our lifetime is over hopefully I'll have my one track mind on a variety of things.

My heart goes out to a Monkeymomma and her lil' Monkey this Holiday Season.

Peace and love to all,

~ D

Do you mean like the childbirth collective? My mom's a doula, and I've been to meetings a few times with her (a while back). It was very informative.

According to an update, things may be looking up?

***UPDATE***

First, on behalf of myself and my family we really would like to extend our sincere appreciation for all your thoughts and prayers.

My dad called and said that Morgan's swelling stayed the same or got a little better. They are going to do a few more tests. If they all come back good and she can breath fine on her own she will be able to go home tomorrow. They do not think they will have to do surgery.

I will let you know when my mom calls me later.

Again, you guys, I just can't believe how much support we have recieved. Thank you everyone!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Such a tragic accident. Am sending good thoughts/prayers for a positive outcome.

Apparently she went home today!! There have been so many people sending thoughts and prayers her way, I know they are so thankful... anyway, thought I'd send along the good news.

Does anybody by chance have a twin bed mattress they don't need any more that you'd be willing to sell me? I am looking for an inexpensive mattress for my dd. I don't even need a box spring or frame, just the mattress...
If you have one, or know of one, PM me! Thanks!!!!!

ERICH JOHN WAGAR MEMORIAL FUND BENEFIT

Aerial photographer Erich John Wagar’s untimely death November 16th left behind wife Gretchen and 3-year-old son Max. Erich, of Brooklyn Park MN, died while BASE jumping in Somerset WI, as noted in the St Paul Pioneer Press, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and local television networks.

Erich’s local community presents a benefit and silent auction Monday December 13th at 7:00pm at Patrick’s Cabaret in Minneapolis, open to all, children welcome. All proceeds will go to the Erich John Wagar Memorial Fund to directly assist Gretchen and Max.

Erich was the family’s sole wage earner; Gretchen has cared for Max as well as being active in the local parenting and birth support communities. The goal of the Memorial Fund Benefit is to provide financial relief towards rent costs for Gretchen and Max as they face the upcoming holidays without a husband and father.

Admittance is open to all; suggested donation of $5.
Silent auction to be held from 7:00pm to 8:00pm; regional donors so far include Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Motorwerks BMW, and D’Amico among many others. Refreshments will include desserts and beverages for children and adults; donations for each are welcomed.

Donations after the event may be made to the Erich Wagar Memorial Account at Wells Fargo Bank, 8041 Brooklyn
Boulevard, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445, 763-493-1230.
