okay, i know of one member in this area, but i'd sure like to make additional contacts in the area before we move there.
we are praying to relocate this december, though it could be early 2004 before we get there. it all depends on when the house sells.
we will almost certainly rent a house for 6 months or so while we wait for base housing, and longer if we decide we want to stay off-post.
so, if anyone is out there, please PM me or reply to this thread! i want to make some friends!

I'm right outside of Fayetteville, about ten minutes from Bragg.

Start searching early for rentals. We just got here two months ago (we own a home here since DH is airborne we'll always end up back here) and the housing list at the time was 18-24 months long for our rank and family size (5).

PM me if you need any help!

yeah, i checked the waiting list for our housing, and it's 12-14 months right now.
you'll have to give me tips on what areas are good to live in, okay?

Stay away from Spring Lake! High crime area, houses are very old and run down. Fayetteville is really a typical military town with a pawn shop and strip club on every corner (atleast downtown) but when you move outside to the 'burbs it's not too bad.

There are a ton of new houses being built around my subdivision. The houses are way bigger than mine, but atleast my property value will go up!

Hope Mills, Raeford, Rockfish are three close little towns all within fifteen minutes of post.

Here's some links:

Welcome to Fort Bragg

I just recently deleted a bunch of sites I had bookmarked with realtors and such. Let me know if you'd like I can pm you the name and number to an excellent property manager. She's real great and will help you find what you need, house wise.

Hi! I lived in Fayetteville for a few months as a child. We were extremely poor at the time and had to get some help from the church, but even still, it was a happy time for me.
We lived in a pastor's house next to a church. I loved to hear them sing on Sunday. It will always remain a wonderful place and experience for me! Whenever I see a beautiful quoir of people of color singing, it takes me back to Fayetteville
