Las Vegas mommies please advise

good playgroups?
mommy organizations/clubs?
kids activities? tumbling classes or something?
family doctors? other great care providers for the whole family?
fun stuff for mommy? cool clubs or something?

I know there's tons to do here, but we're new(again) and I'm mostly looking for stuff that will have us seeing the same people repeatedly to encourage friendships and a feeling of community/belonging.

Sarah,
Did you ever get a response to your inquiry for Vegas playgroups, etc? We're new here and looking for similar things to do with our kids.

Hey mamas,

I am sorry I missed this post before! Sarah, sorry we didnt get to meet up with you when you met Erin for lunch!

Here is a list of local moms lists:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alvplaygroup/ -- Great playgroup. We have been in this group for 5 years now. There are 2-3 scheduled playgroups a week and you are required to go to 2 a MONTH to stay in the group. Its just a safety thing and they max the group out at 40 people to keep it small and close knit. The requirement makes sure that people using the group are in it It is a pretty good mix of mainstream and "crunchy" IMO.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lvnaturalmother/ smaller group, but they do have weekly playgroups. very natural mom orientated. You can say you got the group info from me (I dont know if a refferral is required or not).

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lvmom/ Bigger group, less personal IMO but a great source of info when you need it.

tumbling/dance classes -- there are a lot of low cost sessions for stuff like this put on by some of the schoolls. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the one we got, we got a flyer in the mail but I didn't keep it since kyla is in a co-operative preschool and that is enough for her right now.

Doctors - We usually see Dahlia Wachs (Integrative Family Medicine) -- she is great and selectively/delayed vax with her own kids. Dr. Mendoza (not sure of his first name) is also new to the area and so far people are loving him! We are searching for a new doctor right now as well because neither of those 2 are covered by my DH's new insurance.

Some other good sources of info

HTH and you guys can PM me or email me if you want!

Fun stuff for mommy: Gambling all night at Caesar's palace.

Kidding.

I don't have any great suggestions - was hoping to find some here, too.

We've got a small group of open-minded parents here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lvopenmindedparents/

I've been trying to have playdates at my house since I'm stuck with no car on weekdays, but due to illness it's been cancelled a lot lately. Hopefully soon it'll get back on track, though.

Just wanted to chime in. I started a local moms forum, http://vegasmoms.mommyloot.com. It's pretty new, but I prefer forums to yahoo groups and email.
