what are the odds of 5/5 boys?

BeccaBear, Alexander got himself a good name -- it has a nice cadence to it.

Alice, he's so beautiful : I just love it when they fall asleep with their little fists curled up under their face .

When I first saw the question posed, I was thinking that Sean would be the first to answer . Brandon is nerdy that way too .

Happy news for me today: My previously skeptical in-laws have fallen in love with Kissaluvs CDs. AND, they want to buy us some bigger sizes for when Fenton outgrows his Size 0s! (trying not to think too much on that ) Seems I'm the only one even mildly comfortable with going to prefolds.......So I'm feeling pretty good about having converted my husband and my in-laws (and getting greater respect from other family members too!).

My scary thing for today is to try nursing in the Moby Wrap. Wish me luck.

Alice - your boy is beautiful. I hope you're looking after yourself and making a great recovery.
BeccaBear - welcome Alexander. What lovely news.

So - the next 5 graduates must all be having girls, right?

One gorgeous solstice babe 12/08, two smitten mothers - mothering consciously with conscience and compassion. Birth & Postnatal Doula. Student Midwife. Expecting #2 November '12.

Just wanted to brag about myself and my sister.

I've got the two babies for the afternoon while she is coaching. (amazingly enough, they're both sleeping a lot, so that makes it easy on me) we took a walk around the block, Teo enjoyed the different point of view (my sister has a double stroller) and since he sat up the whole way (seat does not recline) then I think that tired him out a bit more then usual.

However, my sister left 1 4oz bottle but said she doesn't care how DN (dear niece) eats. So, I tried the bottle, but she was fussing and it was taking too long to warm up in the water and I tried it cold but she didn't like it, so, I nursed her. The look on that baby's face was priceless. It was all wrinkled up as she was staring at me "this isn't right, but I'm not stopping" Teo was okay with sharing, so we're all good.

Anyway, just wanted to toot our own horn. My sister for being so laid back and me for actually doing it.

Goodluck with the nursing in the wrap.... I'm hoping that it is easy for you and Fenton.... and about the diapers! I can only hope that someone eventually thinks that cloth diapering is good when the time comes for my family!

Can this be the NMY Graduates gripe thread? DH just got a new job (Yay! Meaningful work ! For less pay! Woo Hoo!!!!!! ) Well, the old job wants him to go to corporate headquarters next week, all week, to do training. And they don't want him to bring his wife and baby because they "want him to be working a lot". I know it's bratty, I know veteren moms manage to be on their own all the time for a whole week, but I'm seriously stressed about how I'm going to do on my own for a whole week. I have some good options (go stay with ILs for a couple of days, have various family members come next week so I can get a hot meal...), but I'm really resentful that they think they own him.

Doody heads.

Shanna- That is SUCH a bummer that they don't want family (wives) to come. It isn't as if you'll be at the meetings. I'm sorry. How is the nursing going?

Elizabeth Your pics are beautiful! I love the one of him winking

Alice is that your beautiful one in your avatar?

Shanna how did the sling nursing go?

*you are all making me want mine to come out NOW even though I know it's way too early

I just got back from the MW and things are great. Baby is measuring a 1/2 week big, but that's no surprise seeing as DH and I are very tall... i have to start taking floridix - which I'm not excited about because I can't stand to take any kind of liquid medication.... and I'm dreading what it will taste like . Also - the baby is now HEAD DOWN! Yay!!! I'm so excited that for now it looks like it's behaving - but I did somehow manage to gain 4 lbs. in the last week - which means that as of today I'm already at the weight that I told myself I'd try not to exceed with this pregnancy - but I can't figure it out because I'm not eating more - I'm actually eating less.... but maybe it's just fluid retention or something - who knows?
Tomorrow is my baby shower with work. It should be interesting because they are all so mainstream that I'm sure I'll have several packages of pampers to return to Target.... I am happy though that when I went to adjust my registry last night - it appears that someone bought the swing It was the last "big" thing on my registry that I really wanted (besides the 12 pack of Bum Genius)....

Time for a snooze... then I've gotta get my car cleaned out and then dinner and prenatal yoga (or swimming - can't decide) later tonight....

Shanna, congrats to your DH on the new job. That stinks about the trip.

Quote:

I know what you mean here. In my case, it sometimes seems that DH offers to overwork himself, and his employer takes advantage of it. Not sure if that’s the case with him, but either way I hate seeing him working so much. (And will hate it even more when little ones enter the picture ).

Jodi, hooray for head down!!

Nursing is going better, though I'm still in some pain on the left - that spot where the blister was is having a hard time healing closed, and I resolved 30 minutes ago to visualize it healing at every nursing. It's going to be hard to do, now that he's smiling when he's nursing (and losing his latch)

I was able to nurse well in the cradle hold with the Moby, but not discretely. Still trying to figure out how people do that in a cradle hold.....
