Keep in mind, Maela, it was less than 8 hours from the very first contraction I could feel (at all) to meeting Quinn! Could be sooner than you think!!

My thoughts are with you and Farmama, I can't wait to hear all about it!! You're going to be Mommy's soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maela and farmama, congratulations! do the contractions hurt? my mw said i will know that it's labor because they will definitely hurt -- they will just be far apart at first.

you are definitely going before me. i just got back from the mw and my cervix is closed. while i have dropped relative to before, the baby is still pretty high. head down, thank god. some hiccups this past week threw me off -- i was afraid (s)he had flipped... i gained a lot of weight in the past week. my weight gain has been very non-linear. not too much overall, but the rates are scary sometimes.

Usually it has helped for me to remind myself that he's not doing it to make me angry - in the heat of frustration, it really has helped to remind myself of that because it can sometimes feel perfectly like it's a sport to him.

Thanks for the support - especially when there are bigger things happening here!!!!!I can't believe the number of mamas is going to double so soon!!!!!!

That helped me too at work.

They started hurting enough for me to need to concentrate on my breathing about an hour ago. But I can still type through one !

Thanks! My mom did not labor for a long time with me (12 hours I think), and she said it was back labor, which is what I've been feeling lately. She said she actually preferred it to feeling contrax in her abdomen like she did with my brother.

I called my mw to let her know that she might get a call in the middle of the night from me. I also let my parents and my sister know. I can't believe this is happening. I'm starting to get a little nervous. Okay I'm going to go rest.

Yes us too!! Loved everything north of chaing mai and particularly adored the spunky little guest house we stayed in Chaing Rai. And there was a beautiful village that we stayed in, right near the border - called Mai Salong or something (was a long time ago. might have to double check that!)Trekking was great but super hard work!

And we HATED Bangkok the first 2 times we went there but by the 3rd time we felt really familiar and comfortable and I now have a big soft spot for dirty stinky Bangkok.

Hello everyone; still no baby yet, but our midwife is on the way. My contrax are about 2-4 minutes apart (they vary so much). Some are very strong and about a minute or longer and some are not so strong and only 30 sec. So I feel like I don't know how much longer I really have. More and darker bloody mucous though!

I probably won't be posting again until after she's born.

Wishing Farmama a peaceful birth!

I was under the impression they were breathable as well. I have two pair of them on my registry and only plan to get cloth nursing pads to use the first few weeks and for backup to the Lily Padz.

Wonderful birth vibes to you, Maela! I am happy that it looks as though you will be getting the timing you wanted.

In the constant journey of unpacking and organizing our new apt, I discovered that one of the bottles of New Chapter Perfect Prenatal Vitamins is the old formula. I am upset that I didn't discover this until six months after I ordered them and really don't like the old formula, or having to take 4 pills/day instead of 3. Is anyone interested in these? It's a 60 day supply and I'd be willing to let them go fairly cheap, or even for just the cost of shipping just to get rid of them. Any takers?

I can't stand the suspense!!!!! I had forgotten how fun this was when Katt, Holiztic and Alice were birthing!!!!

It's cloudy here, I'm going to go light candles for Farmama and Maela - anyone want to join me? They aren't huge candles, maybe it will help for not having an endless labor .

Also typing one handed, we had our baby girl Maev at 10:30AM! 6lbs12oz and 20in. long with a 13in. head. She has brown hair and looks a lot like I did as a newborn. She is sooooo cute!! I'll definitely have to post some pics soon! Breastfeeding is going okay. She takes a while to latch on properly, and I'm getting some painful contractions while nursing. But I know things will get better. I watching her nurse!

Labor was a lot harder than I had expected. Things were going smoothly and I was enjoying it from 11AM when it started to about 2AM. Then transition was difficult (which I expected) and pushing was awful (which I had not expected). I really do not think that I want to birth another baby - right now I would rather adopt. But we'll see how I feel in two years. I did get my natural homebirth though, and that I am proud of! It's very nice to be sitting here in my own bed with my dh and my baby! I don't know if I could have done it naturally if I had had her in the hospital.

Now I am lying in bed for the next week with my babe and dh (he is off until Aug. 9th).
