I have a story too! The day I found out when Katt had her baby and what his name was, DH had his friends over to play D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). One of the guys' characters is named Teo. I thought that was funny/strange. But maybe that's just me
katt, if you're online...I'm curious: Is there anything that you've noticed/experienced since Teo's arrival that you didn't expect? Or has anything been very different from what you expected?
I didn't even see this!! I'm going to cut and paste what i just posted in NMY.
This is the first time I've actually had both hands free to type at the same time.
I figure when I have more time with both hands I'll be sure to type everything out. I'm usually in bed with Baby on my chest... I can type one handed, but it takes a LOT longer and I skip the capitals.
Quick update:
Baby is growing, he already seems bigger... He needs to stop that bad habit right now and stay cute and little forever.
Breastfeeding got off to a somewhat rocky start. We had a bad latch and let me tell you, you do NOT want that to happen, I had owies on my nipples and a nursing baby on sore nipples is NOT fun! I contacted LLL and a leader came out to our apt. to see what was going on, gave me tons of information, and totally helped with our latch. Seems Teo wasn't in the correct position, thus he was ONLY taking the nipple and more along the lines of munching on it rather then using his tounge and pulling the nipple to the back of his throat.
Word to the wise, make sure your latch is good and if you need help, get it sooner rather then later.
I've also discovered that the amount of Newborn diapers I have is enough for 1 day, I do 1 load a day, I basically wash ALL my diapers except what he is wearing. I LOVE my kissaluvs, I also have about 6 hemp pre-folds I use in covers. Hemp really is very absorbant. Gotta love it. I should get/make some more... I actually made like 4 AIO that are VERY cute, but... they don't have a belly-button notch and I am working very hard to keep that thing dry so it'll come off okay. Little baby + Newborn diapers = swimming baby.
My DH has the photos on his computer so I can't post links.
Don't worry, you guys are not forgotten.

Let's see: I get more sleep then I thought I would.
He really is the cutest baby in the world... (that could be the hormones talking as I've heard people say that their baby is the cutest in the world, but that just can't be true
)
Breastfeeding isn't always easy
Sore nipples are very painful
I really couldn't care less who saw my everything, I was buck-naked in that pool and I didn't care who was there.
I spent the next 3/4 days topless
My Boobs got HUGE! (pregnancy has nothing on these girls!)
It is possible to sit and stare at someone for hours and not get tired of it.
I was speaking to my mom the other day and she told me that when we told them his name (no one knew for about 1 hour) she was like: Yep, that's him alright.
Validation is always welcomed.
MIL was calling him 'little tim'. (like nails on a chalkboard) but, we always refer to him as Teo in e-mails and conversation, so I'm sure she'll get the hint. If not, Teo will probably correct her.
(it is easier if I keep my mouth shut around her if she is just annoying me rather then say something, especially if what she is doing is just annoying and not detrimental.)
I can just picture him when he is a little older..."They call me Teo" --
my little nephew said something like that last year, and it was the cutest thing.
Tough about having to wash diapers constantly. Are you finding the toilet sprayer/shower thingie useful? Or is that more for later when there are solid poops?
Sorry that BFing wasn't all smooth sailing, but glad to hear it is getting better.
Alice-
Thank you SO much for the gift! You can't belive how excited I was to see someone actually used that registry! It'll be useful when we have more solid poops, right now they are pretty much non-sprayable.
Still planning on moving at the end of the month. Still don't have a place to live, and still haven't started packing... seems we're really on top of things.
