Does anyone know of a good family doctor in the Houston area that they would recommend? I don't really go to the doctor much, so I don't really HAVE a doctor exactly, but I have been having some chest pain recently and a lot of heart palpitations and headaches, so I really think I need to go see someone. Let me know if you guys have any recommendations, Thanks!

i'm in north houston but willing to travel pretty much anywhere for a decent doctor. hmph. we have principal insurance, it is a ppo, and i have never yet looked up a doctor recommended to me that wasn't on my provider list. and even if they aren't in my network, i can see them anyway just for slightly less coverage. thank goodness my husband gets great insurance at his job!

Joshua Septimus MD is an internist we like. He's in the med center, so a bit of a haul.

I recommend Dr. John Passmore if you have a heart issue. He accepts most insurance and he knows something about natural medicines. He takes an antioxidant himself, called pycnogenol, and has given talks to med students on its use in post-op cardio patients.

I've been to him myself and like him very much.

He's in a group practice near 59 and Beechnut, in the Sharpstown area.
