I am newly pregnant with my second child and will soon be relocating to the Seattle area. Can anyone recommend a homebirth midwife in the area who attends vbac's? Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

TIA,
Tara

I recommend joining the Seattle ICAN group (go to Yahoo Groups and search for it). They'll be able to give you more information than I can.
I CAN tell you that finding a HBAC midwife is difficult (I'm doing the same thing). The political climate in WA regarding VBACs is very tense, and unfortunate.

I second joining the Seattle ICAN Yahoo group. It's a great place for support and information. I also plan on having a VBAC in the not too distant future (probably ttc later this spring) and have heard in my research that there are a couple midwives in the Seattle area who do HBACs. I dont know their names, but you would be able to find this out through the Seattle ICAN chapter I think. The meetings are nice too, if you are able to attend. They are the 2nd Tuesday night of every month 7-9pm at the Community Birth and Family Center.

I wanted to bump this. I will eventually need a vbac/hbac midwife in WA.

I'm not sure about HBAC, but my midwife is with the Centers for Women's Health in Kirkland (associated with Evergreen Hospital) and she is very supported of me doing a VBAC if we have a second child. Good luck in your search!
