We don't have cable, so it would have to be one of the big 3. I think ABC maybe?

I'm still sick, so I'm off to get back in bed. But I'll come back and check later to see if there's a Shanna update.

Expecting #2 in May 2013!

Yay Shanna and Roo! I can't believe it's your time already! This is so exciting!

PiePie that Baby Signs book sounds interesting. I work at a developmental preschool, and we do a lot of signs with our speech delayed kids. I think it's a pretty standard practise for speech therapy to have them start doing signs. So, maybe if your mom knew that she wouldn't be so opposed to it?

I discovered during building the chicken coop that I hate hate HATE building things. And I'm not good at it. So I've been searching for a ready-made option that isn't too expensive. I found a simple looking one that looked light and perfect. But it's $500. Check this out and tell me - what would posess you to think you could charge $500 for it?
I know I'm a little late in responding to this (as in, you may not read this for another month...), but I was just looking through the new issue of Mother Earth News tonight and saw that they had an article on raising chickens, including plans for a small, portable coop. They suggest buying a doghouse and modifying it - so it wouldn't involve too much building on your part.

I'm totally thinking about getting chickens now! (Whenever my job situation changes, of course)

The funny thing was, I was reading the article while we were watching This Old House. I read aloud to DH the part that mentioned using chicken droppings in your compost pile (this afternoon we built a compost sifter, and used our first batch of compost in our garden!). As soon as I read it, the guy on tv (Roger Cook) talked about using composted chicken manure in the garden project they were doing. Eerie.

Maela, I forgot to mention this before, but I am so happy to hear your good news about Maev! How wonderful!

Jodi, thanks for posting your new pic - you look great!

Jodi-your belly looks fabulous! I have Touchpoints as well, I started reading it, but the beginning made me feel like he pidgenhol'd these kids before they even started developing what with the tests and such when they were/are infants. Because of that I haven't picked it up in a while.

I'm sure all of the NMY are thinking of you and Roo and sending positive thoughts your way.

I'm still really excited about Shanna having a baby!!

Angelorum, : ! (It was your birthday, right? ) And I love your pictures. Is that a dance class or a dance that you went to? I wish Dh and I could dance better.

Jodi, your belly is really cute! Mine is kind of like that, except yours sticks out a little further and so looks more pg-looking than mine. I'll have to post mine soon. Dh took some pics the other day.

Terri!! Good luck with TTC! I hope it happens for you soon.

Even with my shirt up, I think I could just pass for a little chubby.

I hope I pop soon. I'm measuring perfectly, so I'm not really worried.

Maela You have such a cute tiny tummy, I bet once you pop you'll look like you are smuggling a beach ball in your shirt!

Shanna Sending some more good labor vibes your way, can't wait to see pics of roo!

Me Not much is going on here, just been a little sick the past couple o days. It always happens during PMS, which by the way I forgot how nasty my skin got without BCPs. I kinda miss that about them but, I am still glad I am off them I feel normal again. I'm gonna try and get out into the garden today depending on how long the kitchen takes me. I weeded out a section of it last week and am just going to do a section at a time because its pretty bad and the dandelions are evil this year. Well, I am of to do the kitchen.

Thanks, and yeah my birthday was Thursday. The dance pictures are from a weekly swing dance we've been going to since we met. (ok, we don't go EVERY week, but there's a dance every week) They have a tradition that whenever it's anybody's birthday, they get a birthday dance, where everyone stands around in a circle, and throughout the song, different dance partners come and cut in with the birthday dancer. It's a lot of fun. What kind of dancing do you and dh do?

Hello everyone, this is DH writing for Shanna4000. Shan started having consistent contractions around 4pm yesterday; labor was pretty light until around 10pm. We went to the birth center about midnight, and had a labor that was as smooth as could be hoped for. Shana was a true champ. The little guy was born at 6:19am, weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz. He was a bright pink with a full head of black hair. We settled on the name Fenton Edward. We're at home resting and getting to know the little guy, but neither of us were prepared for how quickly we'd fall in love with him. i'm sure Shan will share more details over the coming days, but I wanted to let you know as soon as possible that everything went as well as we'd dreamed. Thanks for being such wonderful friends to Shan.

We don't. Unless you count weddings and going out to clubs about twice a year with friends. Instead of saying "I wish we danced better." I should have said, "I wish we danced." ! I just think it would be so fun to take a casual dance class here and there. Dh is not convinced...yet.

Same here. Before our wedding I convinced him to take some dance lessons, because I could tell it was going to be a disaster otherwise. So we learned the foxtrot. So now, at every wedding and other event, dh tries to foxtrot. To every song.
