Anyone know of a midwife or OB in the Inland Empire who's supportive of VBACs? I'm having a heck of a time finding one. I have a Blue Cross EPO for insurance if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Karen Baker (LM) in Yucaipa? She only does homebirths, tho. She's pretty liberal but I don't know her policy on VBACs. There's also the Birth Center in Redlands, don't know if they even touch VBACs or not.

Best of luck! Becky

PS....where do you live? Its hard to find Mothering types out this way! We live in Mt. Home Village up near Forest Falls.

I can guarantee you that the Redlands Bithr Center will not touch a VBAC (I don't recommend them anyway, email me & I'll tell you why) As for most oterh midwives in the area, I believe they can help you if you've had 1 c-sect. However if you've had 2 or more I don't think they can/will. Karen Baker in Yucaipa IS awesome & I highly recommend her!!

Go to www.socalbirth.org to see local providers. I used Lori Luyten and would highly recommend her. She is based out of Chino.

There are several homebirth midwives in the Inland Empire. I am a certified professional midwife and I live in Murrieta. I definitely attend VBAC's and waterbirths. Other midwives in the area are Anne Sommers, Karen Pequora and Pam Jessee.

Another vote for Karen Baker. I dont know about insurance because I didnt have maternity coverage anyways but she did let us make payments which worked out perfectly.
