My family (soon to be 4 children) will be temporarily relocating to Tucson while my dh works at UofA.
Besides craigslist, can anyone point me in a direction of affordable housing that is family friendly. I'm running into a lot of places who are very scared of renting to a family of 6, with 4 children under age 7.
Are there areas we should avoid looking? My dh doesn't have a huge housing allowance and the first few places at 2 br @ $2400 a month are WAY out of our budget.

Hi... I can't imagine where in Tucson you are finding a 2br for $2400??? That is way too much! Most of the rentals I have found (we sold our house in January and needed a 3br/2bto rent) are well below that... for example I live in central Tucson and pay $1200 for a 2000 square foot house with awesome yard.

Honestly I have always fournd the best housing by driving around, however without knowing the neighborhoods and maybe not having that luxury in time I think the local newspaper is a good bet. You can pay an agency a fee (some are less than $50) and get a list from them... I think that is a good idea if you have very little time to look. They streamline it for you.

How are you looking... long distance?
