I'm looking to connect with families who have kids at the Blue Mountain School and/or live in the Cottage Grove area. I'm currently in MN and am contemplating a move.

Josefina.

I'm in PDX, but have visited Blue Mountain and want to say that it is an AMAZING place - we have often considered moving to Cottage Grove JUST for that school.

In Portland we have a wonderful and fairly inexpensive Free School, Village Free School, whose goal is to make the tuition less and less each year...

Thanks.

The school does sound wonderful. I'd love to go out there and visit soon but I'm due in Sep, so I think it'll have to wait.
Yes, I have heard about the school in Portland, which sounds great too. I think I would do better in a smaller town though. Portland is a bit overwhelming for me. What I like so much about Blue Mountain is their countryside location.

Anyone in the area?

assuming you like rural living, Cottage Grove has a vibrant community.

if you have any questions about Cottage Grove just ask away.

The school just lost their charter status...

Not sure what that means for the school, but just thought I'd share this.

blue mountain has been privately funded for most of it's history. what this means is that they'll need to go back to private funding--it's not the end of the school.

i was actually concerned when they became a charter school because upon accepting public money they were then required to meet certain conditions dictated to them by people who don't understand the sudbury model.
