I'm Grayson, an American from NC in the US, married to my Dutch DH and living in Eindhoven. We have three kids (soon to be four), all born in the US (we moved to NL in 2002).
This next birth will be my first homebirth (yay!). Right now I'm looking around for an "earthy" midwife. I'm worried that most midwives here are part of the mainstream medical system and view pregnancy birth as a natural but still medical process that must be managed.
I read the consultatiebureau thread with great interest. We may just skip that altogether
. We do delayed partial vax, so we won't need them for that for a few years. And I definitely don't need any basic advice at this point in the game.
Because #4 is a surprise 7 years after #3, I no longer have *anything*, so I'll probably be picking your brains in the coming months on where to find cloth diapers, nursing pads, etc.
