Anyone know where I can purchase organic apples in Maine? I'm looking for a roadside stand, PYO, family farm, or something like that. Got a favorite place with some tasty organic apples??

Hello i was recently at the common ground fair and saw that ricker hill was there selling there apples and although i do not know them to be organic i would assume them to be as they were at the fair!
hope that helps!
and i did try their apples and they were tasty!
they are located in turner you can google them
to get directions...sometimes even if they do not call themselves organic
they might not be registered. you can always check and see what they are using on their apples
a lot of smaller farms dont register but still grow using organic products.

There's a PYO in Waterboro, but that's way far for you.

What's the place in Waterboro? I wanted to meet friends from NH to go apple picking but i figured Turner was too far for them. Waterboro might work well.

There is an apple orchard in Levant which is about 20 mins from you. Not sure if they are organic but you could call them. It's called Treworgy Farms.

THANKS!!! When I searched for organic PYO apples before all I got was Ricker Hill. We might go on 10/15--I've got to check with our friends and see if that works for them.

From what I understand, Johnston's Orchard in Ellsworth is organic - PYO and has pre-bagged as well. It's just off Route 1A on the outskirts of Ellsworth.

We went picking here a few weeks ago. It was really nice and mellow--just apples and a small cider press. I don't think Johnston's is organic and I'm pretty sure Treworgy isn't either.

I don't remember where I found this info, but I had saved it when I was looking for a place a few weeks ago:

Shalom Orchard - Organic blueberries and organic apples.
1.7 miles from Rt. 182 & Rt. 200 N on Eastbrook Road. Franklin, Maine. Phone: 207-565-2312. Email: shalomorchard@acadia.net
Call for information on crop conditions and locations. 10-5 daily.

Merrill Apple Farms
Rte. 1A, Bangor Rd.
Ellsworth, ME
Ph.: (207) 667-4028
Family-owned & operated orchard for over 50 years. Popular fall attraction for visitors & residents alike. Sell their own apples, cider, & much more. (pyo?)
