Does anyone know a midwife named Alice Brayer or Bayer? Anyone have experience with her they would like to share? Does she have a birth center? I was given her name but no contact info. Feel free to PM me. Thanks so much.

I'm not sure if she is practicing anymore. You can contact www.texasmidwives.com or try the houstonmidwives but I don't know offhand the web address.

I *think* I know of all of the birth centers and I don't recall her name associated with any of them.

Does anyone know - Is it strange for a midwife not to be a member of ATM or houstonmidwives?

I searched and found she is licensed in Texas. There is a number listed. I just need to call now.

No one knows anything about her? I was told she is one of the "best" midwives in Houston.

thanks

She is not a frequently mentioned name. I've never heard anyone mention her as "the best" I don't personally know anyone who has even mentioned meeting her. (and I keep track of these things )

I have a tickle in the back of my mind that someone said something negative about her once- but honestly I have no idea who or what.

There are TONS of good homebirth midwives in town

I know about her. I haven't seen her. You can PM me if you'd like.

As Angela said, there are lots of midwives in Houston.

I just met an Alice the other day. She's a midwife in Humble. I feel totally stupid for not getting her last name. She might have said it when she introduced herself but I was a little spacey that day. I thought she was totally awesome. She runs Houston Birth Services. Do you want me to give you her number? PM me if you do.

OK I just talked to the friend that reccommended her. It is the same midwife. Her last name is Brayer. If you want the contact info just let me know. I met some of her patients while I was there and they all seemed to love her. And she's driving an hour out here to deliver my baby so I'm pretty psyched about that. She says she drives all over Houston.
