I am from Chicago and planning a homebirth. Recently the group that I want to go with (A Woman's Place: has hired a midwife from Texas -- Amy Willen, CNM. She states in her bio on the midwives' website:

I received my Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I have practiced at a birth center in southern Texas as well as at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

I was hoping to get feedback on her. She will be starting her rotation alone the month I am due -- so I am sort of anxious and would love to hear good or bad about her -- please pm me if you feel more comfortable. Thank you!
