HB midwife in Lower Keys?

I'm not currently pg but I have a 6 month old DD and DH and I are planning to start TTC again in about 6 months. DD was born on a beautiful farm in rural Pennsylvania at the home of our midwife whom we loved, but when she was 2 months old we relocated to Key West. I'm not even sure if there are any homebirth midwives in the lower Keys. I'm trying to get that sorted out before we start TTC again because if there are no HB midwives in the area we may wait until we relocate again to TTC again. (Moving eventually is part of the plan; DH and I hope to have a large family and Key West doen't seem like the ideal place to do so; but the when and where is still up in the air. We figure we can have one more child here before we have to move somewhere where housing is a little more affordable/ space is a little more abundant. Lots of considerations here.)

So, to make a long question short, any HB midwives in the lower Keys?

Sheila will travel to do the birth. Not sure how you work out prenatal care with her- http://www.spiritoflifemidwifery.com/

And Marina Alzuguray - http://www.comadresinstitute.com/- lives in the Keys but there were not enough births to keep her going full time as a homebirth midwife, plus she travels a bunch...So she now works at the County Heath Department doing prenatal care and women birth wiht someone else...She is just a fabulous person. She is one of my main metors, and I can not even say how much I love her!!
Maybe you could get prenatal care with her at the Health Department and have Sheila come down for the birth so you woul;dn;t have to drive so much?

Yes, this is pretty much the case. I just gave birth and went through this. Sheila is very nice and will come down for the birth, as well as check into a back up with Marina(when she is in town), in case she doesn't make it in time. Do call Sheila and have a chat with her. Explain your situation and go from there.
