I buy my frames from ebay or another online place which the name has lost me..
Then I get the lenses (with my perscription) put in at walmart or costco !!!

WOW! I thought I was the only one who bought their glasses exclusively off eBay!
I've actually had great success, but you do need to know your size.
I referred a friend to eBay who ended up with a nice pair of kids glasses.
Oops.
If you buy your glasses from an eBay store they will often put the lenses in for you too at a great price.

Other than that I don't know of any good eyeglass stores around Tucson.
But hey, there's a good business idea!
Anyone???

Thanks for the suggestions...but I have to try them on in person...I just can't spend a bunch of cash without knowing how they will look on me...I am one of those crazies who will spend hours trying on glasses, much to the dismay of my dh(who hates glasses anyways)....not to mention I gotta wear them for at least a couple of years, so I want them to be in love with them.

That's why you go to one of those expensive places
TRY ON EVERY EYEGLASS and write down the name and style number
THEN go on ebay or some other discount website and purchase them for 80-90 % off what the expensive place was charging ...:

I go to Fashion Eyewear on Broadway just west of Wilmot. It's not chear, but they have lots of great styles. The main reason I chose them was because of their hours: open later during the week and all day Saturday.

FWIW: My experience has been that all the people that work there are really nice.
