Hello. I am 9 weeks pregnant living near Scranton, PA and am looking for a female OB's or midwifes. I am also contemplating home birth - I am definitely interested in a more natural birth if possible. I was surprised to find my OB/Gyn practice will not allow me to specify a female OB. I understand the on-call rotation for Docs, but I thought there might be a small all female practice. Can someone point me in the right direction? Are there birthing centers or Midwives in the area? Thanks.

My OB/GYN is in Wilkes-Barre, kind of near Montage. I love, love, LOVE her!!! Her name is Lori DelGaudio and she is with Wyomng Valley Health Care. I loved the hospital I was at and everything. I go to her as my regular OB but then when I was preggo, I obviously, had to see all the drs at least once. Here's her info: http://www.wvhcs.org/advancedsurgery/surgeons.cfm

Scroll down to OBSTETRIC/GYNECOLOGIC SURGERY and click on her name.

I went to Shelley Rosenberg with Dr. Tedesco's practice in Scranton, but she's stopped delivering and I wouldn't recommend him.

I'm shocked (and happy) to hear about Dr. DelGaudio and look forward to checking her out.

ARe the midwives you know of homebirth?

Thanks.
