Hello

I wanted to know if anyone has tried acupuncture to induce labor and if so did it work for you. Also do you know of any acupuncturists in the Baltimore area who do this?

Yup! It works. It might not take the first few times, but if that baby is close to ready, it can really help.

Any practitioner who sees pregnant women will be able to help induce. It's a pretty standard, common practice of Chinese medicine.

Yes! It worked for me with my 1st nearly 42-week pg. That was my first exposure to accupuncture and it was very cool -- dh thought it was a little flaky but I found it very comfortable and I don't argue with results.

The practitioner I visited no longer does 'inductions' as her insurance will not cover it. I don't know if this is an issue for other practitioners as well. She's great, though, you may want to give her a call and see if you want to meet her -- Charlyn Santiago (410) 456-4852 [email protected]

Charlyn is great! yes, i believe she will tell you she cannot specifically induce you, but she can do things to help (wink, wink).

if it's going to work i usually see it working on the third day after the first treatment, and most of my ladies do 1-2 treatments.
