Hi everyone.. I am new to this website and this support thread. My name is Kerri, I'm a 24 year old mom to a 2 year-old litle girl named Izzy. I'm a nursing student and I am about to graduate, and here's my prolapse story. I'm not sure exactly when, but soon after I had my daughter, I noticed a mass at the base of my vagina. I didn't think anything of it because I realized I had recently given birth (even though it was a trauma free, non tearing, 6 lb 15 oz birth with no issues). Anyway, I was doing some research on women's health, and often I would google certain conditions. As soon as I typed in "rectocele" a picture came up, and it looked EXACTLY look mine. After seeing the doctor I was referred to a urogynecologist, and recently he saw me and officially diagnosed me with a Stage 3 rectocele, Stage 2 cystocele, and a Stage 2 uterine prolapse. I've already had a vaginal ultrasound and that horrible q tip test, and next week I am getting a hysteoscopy, the following week a urodynamic study, and the last week I get all results/recommendations. I don't know what these other tests are for but I am scared. I don't know what to expect. My doctors are shocked that at my age and with my uncomplicated birth that this is happening and I am just looking for advice. Will this all get worse soon if I don't treat it? Do you guys think I will most likely have surgery? Anyone else my age dealing with this? Any information or advice is welcome.
