I don't often scale the internet these days over my issues - because my husband says "happy stories only"!  But since I feel I am not back to normal, whatever normal is, and that I do still find myself having issues this long after having my baby, I thought I would have a look around...and found this site.  Don't seem to have any type of support networks in nz for this kind of thing.

Anyway, I was induced and had no pain meds, just a tens machine.  I had my daughter in 7 hours!  FORCED!  They used that vontuse thing; was told to push before I was even dilated; And had an internal tear (caused by my daughters shoulder), along with a 3rd degree tear.  I am not into meds at all, so was not keen on getting things fixed.

After 2 hours of stitching, they didn't admit me just sent me and my baby on my way.  I couldn't walk, I couldn't sit down, I was screwed.

It took me 7 weeks before I was able to sit down or even hold my own baby for that matter.  I had to purchase a swim ring so that I could grab a seat.  I spent a lot of time in bed or standing.  I went through hell trying to keep 'it clean and dry'.  Twice daily with the hairdryer, salt baths, a salt bowl over the toilet so that I could wash it after I had been.  It all healed well but I have had problems with things for the past 19 months!

I went to the gyne and they said they couldn't find any problems, but I don't believe they investigated properly.  They had a bit of a feel around, but didn't use a spectrum or anything.  I know that each time I try to have sex, it disrupts something up there and then it takes another week or so to recover from it, with pain and scab like crusts!  (sorry about the TMI)

I have a huge amount of scar tissue build up around the opening, that I am still trying to work away.

My husband and I don't have sex much, because I fear the pain that goes with it.  It's terrible!!!!!  It's on a 'we'll see basis'...

My husband is very patient, he was there at the birth so he knows what I went through, but I am not sure what the future will bring for us in the sex department.

Anyone else still having problems this long after having a baby? help.gif

If it were me id definitely think there's something wrong that needs medical attention. My son is 2 years and just had a second baby and although my first took a LO time to heal (pitocin and forceps) I never experienced anything like that. Could it be a prolapse or that thing where a hole is formed where tissue could be (sorry, not sure what its called). If it were me I'd be very concerned. Can you go to a different gyne? Maybe look up reviews online before selecting one? Or of there's a birth trauma group in your country call them and see if they can recommend a good gyne? It's absolutely ridiculous that they didn't do a thorough exam.
