Emotional Bush says US must finish military campaign in Iraq

Honor them by giving widows less than 30 days to move out of base housing.

OMG....is this for real? that's what they do?
i never cease to uncover deeper levels of shame that DH and i spent time on active duty to this military.

Yes, a widow has 30 days from the day of death to leave housing.

Next he'll have the widows throwing themselves on their husbands funeral pyres.

Shame is absolutely the right word for this administration. Sickening.

OMG I can't believe that is true!! They should have no less than 6 months to a year if they are going to be forced to leave at all. Discusting!

Although I feel it's very wrong to only give a widow 30 days to get out of base housing. I don't agree with a lot of things our leaders do.

This is really not a day to be bashing the millitary. I am a veteran of this war as is my dh. We have lost friends due to this war. Getting angry at Bush does not bring them back, nor does it change the fact that we are over there. A person can do more good by just supporting the soldiers that are in the millitary. (supporting the troops does not mean liking or agreeing with everything the administration does)

I think it's not about supporting the soldiers by not protesting the war or their actions. It's about getting them back so they stop dying. Isn't that the best form of support for anyone?

aniT 05-30-2006 03:20 AM

I don't think anyone is bashing the military. They are bashing Bush and the other policy makers.

chersolly 05-30-2006 08:06 AM

No one is bashing the military. They need to be pulled out of Iraq before another 2,500 die.

I'm so confused. What is the definition of "bashing?" If bashing= talking bad about/being critical, then this thread seems to be bashing Bush, not the military. If bashing= something more serious like, say, KILLING people, then I'd say that Bush is ultimately responsible for doing the bashing. And he is not a member of the military! He is their civilian (mis)leader.
